A VQ-based watermarking method for color images

A watermarking algorithm based on codeword index of VQ-compressed domain for color images was presented.During the vector quantization of a color image,three monochrome images separated from the color image were segmented into blocks first,then each block was coded with the shared codebook generated in advance,meanwhile for every n color image block,by changing the index's parity of one monochrome image block of one color image block,log_2(n+1)bits of watermarking information were embedded.Experimental results show that the embedding of watermarking induces less distortion and that the watermarking has certain robustness.
