The Multi-rate Signal Processing in Software Radio

In this paper,the conception of software radio and multi-rate signal processing is introduced.The signal code rate at every node in the system of software radio may be changed by multi-rate signal processing.Decimation and interpolation are two basic means of multi-rate signal processing,the theory of them is analysed and their related architecture of polyphase filer is given here.The number of digital filter′s steps at every branch of this architecture will be reduced to 1/D(or 1/I) of the original.So this architecture is an effective way to real-time signal processing.
