Effects of different seedling-raising methods on the occurrence and damage of rice blast

Sun Hong-shuang · China Plant Protection · 2006

The comparative experiment of different seedling-raising methods was conducted. The results indicated that, inoculated with pathogen at rice seedling stage, the seedling leaf blast under dry raising conditions occurred earlier and damaged more severely than those under water raising conditions. Without any control measures in fields, the seedling leaf blast and neck blast under dry raising conditions did less damage than those under water raising conditions. The experiment showed that dry seedling-raising was a good way to control rice blast under no pathogen condition.
