Research on Improved Approach of MPEG-4 Encoder Based on DCT

According to the analysis of MPEG-4,this paper presents an improved approach of MPEG-4 encoder based on DCT.Motion estimation and transform coding can be completely combined in the transform domain without the need to convert the DCT coefficients back to the spatial domain for motion estimation and compensation.So the approach can reduce the complexity of the encoder computation,meet the real-time need.
