Study on noise increasing the information process of neuron

Jim Liu · 2004

The neuron system with nonlinear behaviors works in large noisy background, but it can effectively perceive, discriminate and process the information .This paper reviews the research on how neuron system processes the noisy information, and focus on whether the stochastic resonance phenomenon exists or not. In order to show the effect of noise on improving the sense function of neuron system, the pychophysics theory is introduced to explain some realistic examples about noise increasing the sense. These studies help to develop and apply new technology to increase human's sensor function.
