The using actuality of surge protection device(SPD) was expourded.An analysis of the problems of SPD using in terms of grounding connection was conducted by applying the relevant technical specifications of lightning protection system and the long-term experience of SPD inspection.A reasonable mode on the grounding connection of SPD was proposed.In the end,it stressed that SPD must be installed correctly and used reasonably.Then it can achieve its value truly.
