It is very critical to achieve fast search in real-time video application while motion estimation plays an important role in motion compensated image sequence coding.Describe an improved motion estimation algorithm for three-step search.It's based on the original quick three-step search and redefined two different search point and the search window.Simultaneously carry on three-step search by parallel and compare the two result,then the better one will be the final best match.This kind of searching algorithm has the features of three-step seatch algorithm,and it can reduce the possibility of falling into the partial best.It can realize higher performance fast search.
