Large File Mirror Model Based on Internet
Liao Jun-kai · Journal of Sichuan University · 2004
When synchronizing large files on Internet, this model is used to improve efficiency, speed up response, save network bandwidth and reduce resource burden on local and remote system. With monitoring the writing operation of operating system, the model encapsulates the filename, offset, data into a record, which is sent to the remote mirror server. Then the same writing operation is performed on the remote mirror server to make the file synchronized. This model achieves all its goals described above and can be run in synchronous mode and asynchronous mode. Moreover the model can adapt itself to the status of network and obtain better fault tolerance.
