Method to Solve Inverse Problem of EEG Based on Laplacian Equation

Xi Liu · 2004

Objective To find a method for solving the inverse problem of EEG so that the current dipoles could be located. Method Two methods for the deconvolution of the cortical EEG were proposed, which improve the spatial resolution of EEG. The methods are based on the passive electric field problem. The potential distribution on different layers of the head can be computed recursively. Since the shape of the head is close to a sphere, both of the two methods were used to calculate the potential distribution. Result The result of computer simulation show that these two methods are feasible. Conclusion Potential distribution on different layers of the head can be computed with the two methods based on passive electric field problem.
