A new TCP congestion control mechanism is proposed named TCP Veno, which adopts improved slow-start and fast retransmit/recovery mechanism to overcome the performance degradation. In order to show and analyze the performance of Veno more impersonally and directly, several different TCP protocols are compared with TCP Veno by using NS-2. The results indicated that the TCP Veno protocol resolves the problem of degraded performance caused by random packets loss,as it performances well in wireless networks, and it is more excellent than other protocols in case packets loss rate is high.
