An Optimal Harvesting Problem in a Polluted Environment
Luo Zhi-xue, HE Zerong · Journal of Biomathematics · 2003
A harvesting problem associated with a stock in a polluted environment is studied in this paper. The problem is to find an optimal allocation of efforts towards treating and harvesting the stock so as to optimize the revenue to the harvesting agency. Pontryagin's maximum principle has been used to solve the optimization problem. Optimal solution is obtained and suboptimal paths are constructed to reach this optimal solution.
