Equipment replacement problem on convex case and its competitive analysis

New equipments are introduced in an online fashion,the decision-maker must decide if to invest in buying new equipments and when to buy them.Namely the player decides how to replace the equipments to satisfy order which arrives one by one without future information.The aim is to minimize the total costs of production costs plus capital costs.In this paper,the offline problem is discussed firstly,two algorithms are given and algorithms complexity is analyzed.Furthermore,we study the online version on convex case and give the critical value algorithms which the competitive ratio is 6,this result is better than the original algorithms.
