Implementation of Wavelet Lifting Transform Based on FPGA

The wavelet lifting has become one of the key techniques about image compression standard in JPEG2000.In the paper, the keystone of wavelet lifting arithmetic was presented.The circuit of 5/3 wavelet lifting transform based on serial pipeline has been designed.Every module of designed circuit was implemented by verilog.The edge data adopted the method of symmetrical periodic extension in order to ensure the full reconstruction of image data.In the end, the designed circuit was validated by FPGA, and the result of the validation was presented.
