Research of Fractal Image Coding

Fractal image coding is a new kind of image coding method developed in recent years, it is a novel technique of image compression based on contractive affine transformation. The fundamental principle of fractal coding is introduced, the coding method and features of fractal coding are researched, and some improved methods of fractal image coding are analyzed. The practical statuses, the prospect of fractal image coding are given a brief description at last.
