The variable frequency RF front-end is designed for the new generation repeater with digital processing function, and can be used in the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) repeater system for aimed at solving the pilot pollution and optimizing the CDMA network. The modulation channel and demodulation channel of this variable frequency RF front-end are designed with zero-IF approach. The LO(Local Oscillation) can be configured online so that its output frequency is variable continuously in a certain range. The hardware design of such RF frontend is proposed to reduce the phase noise and noise figure. Finally, performance of the RF front-end is tested, and the results show that this RF front-end's overall noise is very low,the EVM value is 4%~6%rms(Root Mean Square),and frequency stability of LO is up to 10~(-9),all meet the standards of CDMA repeater.
