A Model Platform Design of Virtual Root Based on L-System

Roots,which are the main vegetative organs that affect plant growth,development and metabolism,are an important part of the plants.Root architecture is an important factor that affects plant growth and nutrient uptake.It is important to understand the plant growth,development and its adaptation to the environment by studying the root architecture.In this paper,a method of model platform with virtual root based on L-System using Visual C++ and OpenGL is proposed.It can be used in the research of soybean root system as supporting software.It can also provide a method for the research of other plant root systems.
