Research on MPLS VPN and IPSec VPN

The Virtual Private Network(VPN) based on Multi-Protocol Label Switching(MPLS) technology and the VPN based on IPSec technology can fit in with the different requirements of enterprise users,the former is suited to the requirement in the security of net data communication,and the latter is for that in the net service quality. In the paper, the working priciple, system architecture and realization means of the two VPN technologies are analyzed,and their difference,strong and weak points are found out.In order to solve the contradiction between communication security and communication speed,it is brought forward that the MPLS and IPSec technologies can be adopted combinedly so as to fully utilize their strong points.
