Influence of Retention and Drainage Aids on Printability of Reproduced Newsprint

LU Cai-yuan · Packaging Engineering · 2008

This paper researched the influence of amphoteric starch, CPAM and CPAM/BT retention and drainage aids systems on printability of reproduced newsprint. The optimum dosage of three retention and drainage aids was determined and their effects of improving printability of newsprint were compared. The results showed that CPAM/BT greatly enhanced the retention and drainage;the smoothness and surface strength had obvious improvement;the two-sidedness difference was reduced;ink absorption ability and breaking length had some increment; paper had a better formation.
