Image Compression Based on the Combination of Wavelet Transform and Fractal

The method of image compression combining wavelet transform and fractal compression has been studied. It is consisted of fractal coding in low-frequency of wavelet transform coefficient and zero-tree (coding) in high-frequency part. It overcomes the difficulty that zero-tree code does not consider the high (energy) trait in low-frequency image and cuts down the domino effect of (recovery) image in fractal (compression).
