Media Streaming Transmission Model Based on Diffserv

Media streaming applications over networks are often disturbed by data packet loss and errors as well as the insufficiency of network bandwidth, which degrades the video quality on the receiving side. In this paper, we establish a diffserv model suit for media streaming transmission, which enable high-priority data streams (such as media streaming data streams) to be assigned more bandwidth. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism can obtain higher throughput and lower packet loss rate, and achieve reliability and real-time performance on the receiving side.
