Analysis and research of topology discovery strategy for MANET

Topology discovery strategy is very important for managing mobile Ad hoc networks. This paper first analyzed the conventional topology discovery strategy in wired networks.And then surveyed the last researches in topology discovery for mobile Ad hoc networks in recent years.Discussed two types of the topology discovery strategies,which were ant type and cluster type.Illustrated and compared the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm in both types respectively. At last,discussed the unresolved topics of this field.
