Design of an S-band frequency synthesizer based on a YIG oscillator

In order to acquire ultra wideband,micro step and low phase noise local oscillator which modern radar system and some precision measuring instruments need,this paper presents a PLL-based interpolation scheme of direct digital synthesis(DDS) based on yttrium iron garnet(YIG) oscillator.It has implemented the research and design of frequency source of micro step in S-band frequency range 2～4GHz.Experiments show that the phase noise and dynamic range of the YIG oscillator frequency synthesizer are better than that of the common VCO frequency synthesizer.
