A new medium access algorithm for ad hoc network with multipacket reception

The MPR (multipacket reception) technic brings a new conception to improve the throughput of the wireless networks. In this paper, a novel medium access algorithm is presented for ad hoc networks with MPR nodes. The theoretic analysis of throughput about this algorithm has been given. We also compared the performance of this algorithm with IEEE 802.11.The simulation result shows that the new algorithm can increase the throughput of the ad hoc network, when traffic is above one certain value.
