Dynamic Load Balancing Algorithm Based on Status of DHCP Server

Load balance is anurgent problem of DHCP service cluster in the DOCSIS/PacketCable network environment. Load balancing algorithm is the core of task distribution for cluster. In this paper,an approach is proposed to allocate tasks according to the servers' status. The algorithm gives the calculation of server performance,load,weights and status. It also introduces the method to choose a server for a client according to a random number and the status of the server,thus simplifying the task allocation algorithm on load balancer considering the real load and capability of server. Test results prove that this algorithm is better than the load balancing algorithm based on real-time performance dynamic feedback.
