An out-page logging approach to storage management in flash-based DBMS

Flash-based DBMS has become a new hotspot in data management research due to the application of flash memory in enterprise computing environments.According to the data update pattern in databases and the deficiencies of existing flash storage management,a novel out-page logging approach (OPL) was proposed for the storage management in flash-based DBMS.Through improving the space utilization of log pages,OPL can reduce the quantity of flash write operations and erase operations and thus enhance data update performance.OPL also supports transactional database recovery.
