Objective To evaluate the difference of low platelet counting between the automated hematology analyzer and the manual method in different disease. Methods Among 239 blood samples with low platelet counting(80×109/L), including 73 liver diseases ,58 carcinomas after chemotherapy, 108 hematonosis, were counted by the automated hematology analyzer and the manual method respectevely, and which were divided into three groups(BPC25×109/L, 25-50×109/L and 50-80×109/L) according to the guto-mated platelet counting, the results of these two mathods were compared. Results A-mong BPC25×109/L group, the hesults of platelet counting of the automated analyzer were significant lower than that the manual method in the three diseases mentioned above. There were no significances (P0.05) between these two methods with the hematonosis disease, but the results of the automated analyzer were obviously lower than that of the manual method (P0.05) with liver diseases and nalignant neoplasms when BPC were 25-50×109/L. There were no significances(P0.05) by these two methods with three diseases mentioned above when BPC were 50-80×109/L. Conclusions It must be recounted by manual methed that the result of BPS is50×109 /L with liver lession or malignant tumor and is 25×109L with hematonosis by the automated hematology analyzer.
