Principles and Methods of Object-oriented Modeling in GIS

This paper starts with the conception of object-oriented modeling in GIS, then putting forward three principles of object-oriented modeling in GIS: purpose of applying, depth of applying and procedure. In the end, it gives the methods of object-oriented modeling in GIS combining with the example of modeling of campus roads facilities in GIS and generalizes the results for a set of conceptual graphs, a suit of tables and a database. It can provide some useful reference for the readers’ practical modeling works.
