Study on the Fractal Characteristics for Particle Sizes of Coal Dusts

Tan Yun-zhen · Journal of Shandong University of Science and Technology · 2010

In the paper, the authors studied the fractal characteristics of coal dusts systematically by means of fractal theory and put forward an objectively quantitative characterization for the particle sizes of coal dusts size fractal dimension D.The results show that the particle sizes of coal dusts are fractal, and the relationship between the size fractal dimension D and the average particle size Dav is negative correlation, and each size fraction frequency distribution has great impact on the fractal dimension of particle sizes. The more fine particles in the coal dust sample, the large the size fractal dimension is,and the more complex the coal dust system is.The fractal dimension D has objectively quantitatively characterized the structural characteristics of the particle size distribution of coal dusts.
