Capacitor Voltage Control of Shunt Active Power Filter

A DC capacitor voltage control model of 50kVA Shunt Active Power Filter(SAPF) is analyzed,and the PI controller of DC voltage control loop is designed based on the model.In order to suppress the surge voltage,the method of soft startup of DC voltage which constitutes of three stages is presented.The aforementioned PI controller is adopted to control DC voltage after putting into operation of shunt active power filter.The experimental and simulative results from a 50kVA prototype confirmed the feasibility of the proposed approach.
