Use of Mammotome system in diagnose of early stage breast cancer

The objective of this study was to verify the accuracy biopsy for breast cancer by Mammotome.We selected 36 cases of early breast cancer.Before surgery we took Mammotome biopsy by the guidance of ultrasound and sent 3-5 strips to exam ER,PR,c-erbB-2,p53,and Bcl-2 expressions,and carry on the pathology diagnosis as well as immunohistochemistry examination for the cases after routine operation.There were no statistic differences between the two groups about the diagnose,ER,PR,c-erbB-2,p53,and Bcl-2 expressions(P0.05,exact probabilities in 2×2 table).We can get tumor tissue much enough,manufacture specimen conveniently,get pathology diagnosis and receptor expression reliably.Mammotome system may be taken as an effective method to make diagnose in breast cancer.
