Settlement Analysis and Treatment of the main Transformers Foundation in a Substation

Differential settlement which occurred between foundations of the main transformers and radiations was observed before a 500kV transformer substation was put in productive use.It could have made serious problem and delayed the regular electrical supply in local area in the summer of 2002,if the correct foundation treaments were not taken. To ensure the in_time productive use of the 500kV substation, several methods were laid out. Subsoil Unloading Method was carried out to strengthen the bed. The method was not only safe and economical but also fast, which is worth considering in the design of the same foundation type.
