SID-the Modeling Method of Resources and the Application on Network Management System

Wei Li-hong · Beijing Youdian Xueyuan xuebao · 2004

Based on TMF(TeleManagement Forum)-NGOSS(new generation operation software and systems)-SID(shared information and data) model, object-oriented method is used in TELCO OSS to model the network resource data. Through resource modeling we can universally describe all the managed resource which could play a role in operation, no matter they are physical or logical. By this way multi-domain network management systems can be integrated together. It is the first time in China to put the TMF-NGOSS-SID standard into practical OSS (operations software and systems). Resource management sub-systems are reengineered in GSM(global system for mobile communications) network management system by modeling toolkit across provincial branches and such upper layer applications as the alarm correlation analysis, locating, protect transmission network trans-ring service and VIP's SLA(service level agreement) management are realized. The results prove the potential value of resource modeling for analytic application via the SID technique practice in network management system building. Resource modeling provides a solid base for the complicated network and services management within operators.
