Application of TCM Technique in High Speed Satellite Data Transmission

This paper gives a systemic summary on Trellis Coded Modulation(TCM).It discusses the basic principles of TCM technique,mapping by set partitioning,Viterbi decoding arithmetic,and it gives a computer simulation of the performance of TCM over AWGN channels.Then it demonstrates the application of TCM in high speed satellite data transmission which is powerlimited and bandwidthlimited.
