Synthesis of Simvastatin

This method is improved for preparing simvastatin from lovastatin by the sequential processes comprising hydrolysis of lovastatin,protection of an alcohol group with t-butyldimethylsilyl group,acylation and removal of silyl protective group.The total yield is 58.3%.This method reduced the production cost,enhanced yield,and suits for industrial production.
