Application of VPN Technology to Field Area

Since Sichuan ' s petroleum operation areas are always located in a remote hilly area with sparse population and scarcity of material, it objectively causes incompatibility of network infrastructures. This paper presents the principle and realization mechanism of virtual private network ( VPN ) technology as well as the component and function of VPN network platform for Sichuan Petroleum. In a field area, some information communication problems exist in production scheduling, such as data transmission, video meeting and voice. This study focuses on how to solve the problems by VPN technology and link resources in wireless satellite transmission. Both application of VPN and its deployment scale are also analyzed. And the feasibility scheme of effectively extending the enterprise private network is proposed.
