Analysis on one hedging strategy-epistemic lexical verbs in academic research articles

On the basis of corpus of academic research articles and two news corpus,the paper analyzed one hedging strategy-epistemic lexical verbs in academic research articles.The results show these verbs are widely applied in academic articles,and the distribution in corpus of academic research articles is significantly different from that in news corpus.The research results help student learn and master some epistemic lexical verbs,which contribute to the persuasiveness and reliability of their articles.
