A Method for Optimized Management of Airborne Sensor Intervals

Bo Ling · Electronics Optics & Control · 2011

A method for airborne sensor interval management was presented. In this method, the estimation accuracy of target state was taken into consideration, and the Interacting Multiple Model(IMM) external Kalman filtering was used to filter the target data from the airborne sensors. The airborne sensor information matrix was calculated out in real time by using the filtered data.Based on which the optimum intervals for sensor detecting with given detection precision was obtained, which was used for effective energy configuration and management of airborne sensors. In this paper,Section 1 presents the mathematical model of the IMM external Kalman filtering;Section 2 describes the mathematical model of the information matrix;and Section 3 explains the steps of the airborne sensor interval optimization algorithms in detail.Simulations were carried out to the optimization management algorithm, and the result showed that the management algorithm can realize rational configuration and management of sensor energy rapidly and effectively.
