An Analysis of FO-MUSIC Algorithm in the Presence of Sensor Perturbations

Application of subspace-based algorithm to narrowband direction-of-arrive(DOA) estimation requires that the array response be known. In practice, however, the response often deviates from its nominal values, which becomes one of the important sources of the estimation errors. In this article, we analyze performance of FO-MUSIC algorithm in the presence of sensor perturbations, and then compare it with SO-MUSIC algorithm. The result shows that when the sensor perturbations are the same the error of DOA estimation of FO-MUSIC algorithm is smaller than that of SO-MUSIC algorithm.
