TCP Characteristics of Satellite Communication and Its Improved Design

This paper studies TCP performance improvement of satellite communications, and analyzes some unfavorable factors for operation efficiency when shipboard satellite communication signals of satellite communication stations are transnlitted through TCP protocol, and proposes the improvement method and a simple test is performed. TCP protocol, as a reliable communication protocol, uses some protection means for secure transmission of data. However, these means are always applied to wired network and can't meet the requirements of communication support of shipboard satellite communication station. The improvement method proposed in this paper mainly improves congestion control and slow start strategy in TCP transmission by analyzing data package lost situation.
