A Fingerprint-Based Remote User Authentication Scheme

This paper proposes a fingerprint-based remote user authentication scheme. A certain user imprints his fingerprint inside the identity authentication card, in which there is a fingerprint scanner, and the scanner generates a fingerprint template. The fingerprint matching function in the server compares the preprocessed fingerprint image by the fingerprint template stored in the database of the server. The data transferred between the card and the server is protected by an encryption function. Besides, the client PC does not process any data, and the whole process is secure and reliable.
