A Novel Presence Detection Algorithm Based on the Energy Detection for Burst Signals

The probabilities of detection and false alarm are derived for short time energy based presence detection algorithm for burst signals in the complex Additive White Ganssian Noise (AWGN).A new Principal Component Analysis (PCA)-based energy de- tection algorithm is also proposed in this paper,which can achieve a comparable result with greatly reduced computational complexity. Simulations performed for burst signals employing different modulation schemes under various Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNR) verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
