Recent progress of single-photon sources and single-photon detectors

Among the various implementations of quantum information,optical methods are unique as they allow long distance communication and provide new ways to quantum compu- tation.Important elements used in optical quantum information processing are single photon detectors and sources.Methods for producing and measuring single photons were reviewed and their applicationes in quantum information processing were discussed.
