Automatic recognition research on preposition's usages based on combination of rules and statistics

The automatic recognition research on preposition's usages is the important component of Chinese function words knowledge base.Based on the state of art,the advantages and shortages between the way of rules and statistics is analyzed,and a rules and statistics combined algorithm of Chinese prepositon's usages automatic recognition is presented.Compared to the only rules and only statistics method,the precision of Chinese prepositon's usages automatic recognition is improved at 14.64% and 5.22% respectively on the corpus of people's daily from February to May,2000.
