Image registration method based on projection and multi-resolution spectrum decomposition

A real-time image registration algorithm combining integral projection and multi-resolution spectrum decomposition technique is presented. The algorithm acquires the quantity of two-dimensional spatial translation by means of projecting each frame apart along horizontal and vertical direction and using multi-resolution spectrum decomposition approach to process the two projection vectors, respectively. The experimental results validate that the algorithm has preferable noise tolerance performance, low computational cost, high accuracy and fast convergence rate, and especially adapts to real time realization with hardware.
