Stream processors which are being widely used in computer graphics and media processing, can achieve much higher performance than traditional microprocessors. We design a 32-bit heterogeneous multi-core stream processor MASA-I based on Altera EP2S180 FPGA.We evaluate the hardware cost and the performance of MASA-I.The results show that the heterogeneous multi-core system based on stream processing can be well implemented on FPGA, and can be applied to streaming applications.
