Key Technique of OSI-SM/SNMP Proxy-Study on MIB Translation

Although there exist big differences on management information transmission protocol and management information base (MIB) between OSI-SM and SNMP, the management of large-scale multi-protocol network and end-to-end network requires the interconnection and interworking between OSI-SM and SNMP. The proxy technique is studied in this paper to meet the demand of integrated network management through mapping OSI-SM MIB to corresponding SNMP MIB. At last methods for implementing MIB translation using C ++ is introduced.
