Connectionism in AI and Grammatical Theories

This paper gives an account of the links between Connectionist Models in Artificial Intelligence and some rising grammatical theories in linguistics, in particular, the theories of Cognitive Grammar and Emergent Grammar. Recent achievements in the study of Chinese grammar based on these two grammatical theories are introduced in the paper as well.
