A New Approach for Marginal Noise Removal of Binary Document Image

This paper proposes a new approach to remove marginal noise in binary document image.The proposed approach consists of three steps which are marginal noise preprocessing,marginal noise detection and marginal noise removal.This approach is compared with another one,and experiment results show that the proposed approach can remove the marginal noise more effectively.This approach has already found quite satifactory application in a “document image processing system”.
