Study on Miller Code Technology for High Data Rate Mud Pulser System in LWD

With the rapid development and widly useage of Logging While Drilling technology,the requirement of high data rate is more and more urgent.The encoding/decoding method which is suited for the specifaication of mud pulser is a key technology.Miller code is suitable for the high data rate mud pulser,because it has a small DC component,narrow occupied band,antiinterference ability and other characteristics.In this paper,the analysis of high speed data serial transmission format of mud pulse telemetry system and the algorithm of encodeing and decodeing are presented,all of these algorithms are carried out using MATLAB simulation;the correctness and feasibility of the algorithm are validated in the research.
