Implementation of a High-Efficiency and Low-Power Switching Regulator IC
Hu Li · 2003
A pulsefrequency modulation (PFM) method is proposed in the paper, in which operating frequency varies automatically with the load A boost DCDC converter IC is designed with PFM, which has a simple circuit structure, low power consumption and fewer peripheral components The circuit improves efficiency significantly when operating with little load, especially with no load The circuitry of the chip and the whole DCDC converter system are simulated with EDA tool The chip is fabricated in 3μm Pwell, doublepolysilicon, singlemetal CMOS technology, and it can be used for portable electronics
